We’re pretty sure you’ve heard of the phrase “safety first”. Well, our favoruite thing about squat racks is that they help make exercise safe. When lifters are squatting or benching hundreds of pounds, pros or beginners, it’s necessary to stay sage. If you were to fail a lift without having pin pipe safety involve, this could jeopardize your training. Hence why a squat rack will prevent the heavyweight from crushing you.
Don’t be afraid to practice your squatting technique weight-free or with just a barbell and test how far down you can go. Men’s Health points out that you’re not just bending your knees and letting the load take you down to the floor – there are important cues you have to remember to squat correctly.
